Several years ago when I was starting my social events planning company, I was asked to speak at a women’s club event in Dallas, Texas. The topic was, “How To Plan A Great Party”. I was terrified, not because I didn’t have the knowledge of how to plan great parties, but more because of speaking in public. This was so out of my comfort zone. Well, being an avid reader and always engrossed in learning more about my craft, to help me prepare for my talk, I turned to one of my all-time favorites books written by the daddy of party planning, David Tutera’s “A Passion for Parties”. This book was such a great reference for my talk. (I nailed it!). Although I have every book the man has ever published, this book was very instrumental in assisting me while launching my company, A.D. Parties & Events, LLC and Weddings by Gail.
Fast forward to 2018. With my desire to continue my growth in my chosen career, I attended and completed The 2018 David Tutera’s Event Planning Symposium. Not only was I honored and fortunate to meet the incredible Mr. David Tutera, but by attending DTE, I was able to learn first-hand from him. It just further proves how important it is to follow your PASSION!
I will be attending the Wedding MBA in November in Las Vegas, where David Tutera will be one of the presenting speakers. I also will be attending the DTE 2019 in Bermuda. I am looking forward to both events. Both will be super fun and sooooo educational. “Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.”
